One of her personal highlights was being selected by a scout to join Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs despite all the turmoil in the last couple of years. Songwriting is a source of inspiration for aspiring producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and discovers many which spark thoughts. "I'll be able to discern within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. Once I've a tune in my mind and I begin to write right away." I'll sit out on my back porch with my guitar and the words just come and usually it's finished in just 30 minutes. Niykee has found that her pain in the past provides endless sources of inspiration. It's hard to avoid the painful memories from my childhood, and especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting included in her songs. The pain of losing my sister as well as my childhood influence the music that I compose. It's important to me to find a deeper significance to all I perform.
