
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico with leading roles in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), for which she received an Ariel Award nomination. With roles in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly established herself as a leading actress in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of Frida Kahlo painting artist in Frida (2002) The film, which is a biographical feature she co-produced and won her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. The actress also earned her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce and acted in action-oriented film Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
